Summary
We are pleased to announce the general availability of our September 2020 Preview Release (PR): CloudBees Build Acceleration 2020.09.00. Please see our earlier announcement about our Accelerator Release Strategy update and our plan to accelerate the delivery of new content through Preview Releases.
Cloudbees Build Acceleration v2020.09 PR introduces performance improvements for incremental builds as well additional diagnostic reports in CloudBees Build Acceleration Insight.
Performance Improvements for Incremental Android Open Source Project (AOSP) Builds
This release includes several enhancements to improve the performance of AOSP incremental builds.
New “Diagnostic Report” in CloudBees Build Acceleration Insight
A new “Diagnostic Report” in CloudBees Insight enables developers to quickly analyze warnings and errors in the build without having to go through their entire log files. The report is available both from the command line and from the graphical user interface in CloudBees Build Acceleration Insight.
Performance note
In a Windows mixed-project environment, using electrify for Windows C++ projects may improve performance. To ensure this works correctly, create a batch file to call electrify that unsets EMAKE_BUILD_MODE and sets TMP and TEMP environmental variables to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Temp. The emake and electrify calls should use separate agents. You can achieve this by creating separate agent resources in the CM.
Behavior Change
As part of CloudBees commitment to inclusivity, the bemake configuration files have been renamed to bemake_packages_supported and bemake_packages_exceptions in place of bemake_package_whitelist and bemake_package_blacklist, respectively.
In addition, Checksum files are now generated using SHA-256
