We are pleased to announce the general availability of our August 2020 Preview Release (PR): CloudBees Build Acceleration 2020.08.00. Please see our earlier announcement about our Accelerator Release Strategy update and our plan to accelerate the delivery of new content through Preview Releases.
Cloudbees Accelerator v2020.08 PR introduces new usability improvements, Yocto build performance improvements and support for the latest Linux and Windows platforms.
Out-of-the-box Performance Improvements for Embedded Linux Builds
Parse avoidance has been enabled by default for Yocto builds using ebitbake and additional Yocto packages are now accelerated using eMake.
Insight for CloudBees Build Acceleration now supported for older Mac OS versions
This release adds support for CloudBees Build Acceleration Insight on macOS Mojave (10.13) and later.
Support for new Linux and Windows Platforms
The 2020.08 PR release introduces support for the latest versions of Linux - CentOS 8.2, Debian 9.13 and 10.5 and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15.2.
Window Server 2019 support is introduced in the 2020.08 PR release.
- Users can monitor build progress with the new percent complete display shown for running builds on the Builds and Build Details pages. Users can also specify a different number of maximum items on the Builds and Agents pages.
- Resource definition is simplified by the addition of an intelligent Hosts field that automatically populates a list of known agent hosts from which to select. In addition, the Resources page now shows the Description for each resource.

CloudBees recommends that customers moving to the Preview Release upgrade all of their Accelerator components to version 2020.08.00. This includes the Cluster Manager, cluster nodes (agent machines), and all local eMake build machines.
