Summary
We are pleased to announce the general availability of our first Preview Release (PR): CloudBees Accelerator 2019.08.00. Please see our earlier announcement about our Accelerator Release Strategy update and our plan to accelerate the delivery of new content through Preview Releases.
Cloudbees Accelerator v2019.08 PR introduces several new capabilities that shrink development cycles and enable software engineering teams to improve software quality while releasing more frequently. The v2019.08 PR release introduces Jobcache based caching capabilities for non Make based build environments such as SCons. This release also introduces usability improvements to Accelerator’s out-of-the-box Android support and for Windows builds using MSBuild as well as updates to the Cluster Manager User Interface.
Support for Jobcache with Electrify
This release introduces Jobcache support in Electrify when using the gcc and clang compiler for Linux environments, accelerating non-make based Linux builds through both distribution and caching.
Simplified MSBuild integration
This release introduces ecmsbuild, which improves out-of-the-box acceleration of both Visual Studio and MSBuild builds. We encourage all users of Visual Studio especially those using MSBuild to move towards this approach for accelerating their Windows builds.
Monitoring build progress on the console
This release enables Accelerator users running builds from the command line to get continuous feedback on the build progress including an estimate of the percentage of build completed.
