A CJE controller fails to start up after restart

Issue

I have restarted one of the controllers using cje controller-restart in my cluster but it fails to start up.

Explanation

When a controller is restarted it’s not guaranteed that the IP address will be preserved. This could happen, for example, if the private IP gets reassigned in between destroying the old controller and creating a new one. At that point the newly created controller will not be incorporated into the CJE cluster and the cluster could be left in a bad state. Due to this risk, it’s advisable to perform this type of restart only when directed by a Cloudbees support engineer.

IMPORTANT if you have restarted your controller will not start up, please open a support case with Cloudbees Support right away. Depending on your particular implementation a support engineer will assist you in remediation.
