Why we evaluate plugins before install them


I am just wondering, why you evaluate plugins before install them?



To protect the integrity of DEV@cloud we follow a standardised change request procedure for adding new plugins to the DEV@cloud update centre.
This change request process is required to ensure that
* the plugin lifecycle is managed - so that we understand when new plugins are being added to the update centre
* that plugins have been checked for compatibility with DEV@cloud
* to prevent uncontrolled plugin proliferation and potential platform stability issues

The time of resolution of this process depends of work load of DEV@Cloud team, usually less than a week and never more than two weeks.
