Unable to connect to Operations Center


  • The Client Masters take too long to connect to the Operations Center instance

  • Set TCP port for JNLP agent agents to Fixed in Configure Global Security page
  • Go to CloudBees Jenkins Operations Center
  • Click on Manage Jenkins on the left side of the navigator
  • Click on Configure Global Security in Manage Jenkins page
  • Select Enable security check box and set the TCP port for JNLP agent agents to Fixed with port number

    Does the fixed port number matter? When there is more than one master does each master need a unique fixed port number or should all of the fixed port numbers be the same. Is the fixed port number used in HA setups?

    Hi Mark,

    No, it should not, unless it conflicts with any other service on the host.

    We recommend unique ports.

    Fixed port is necessary largely to support firewalls. In HA setup we recommend avoiding proxying the JNLP port with a reverse proxy but configure Jenkins in such way that enables direct communication of agents to the primary node. Please refer to How to set-up a CJP HA environment with HA Proxy.
