RBAC permissions seem to disappear after system restart

Issue

  • Permissions seem to disappear after system restart when using RBAC.

When using RBAC, after a system restart, some users find they don’t have their permissions
and are unable to access their folders and jobs.

If an administrator navigates to the the Groups page of a folder (including the root one), permissions
seem to be restored in that folder.

Environment

  • CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise
  • CloudBees RBAC Activated

Resolution

Upgrade the nectar-rbac to release 5.5 or later.

In order to increase performance, RBAC caches group membership information. Under some circumstances,
incomplete information may be cached during startup, causing the described behaviour.

Version 5.5 of nectar-rbac ensures all the information is available before performing any caching.
