nmake command is not working in Cloud Jenkins

Issue

I want to run the following command on execute shell block:
nmake -f Makefile.mak

But it is showing the following error message:
line 2: nmake: command not found

Environment

Resolution

nmake is Windows command and at CloudBees your pool of slaves can be Linux or MacOSX slaves, but not Windows slaves.

There are two ways you can use Windows slaves:

  • Tie you own Windows slave to your Jenkins master at CloudBees with a public IP address, renting a machine in AWS for example.
  • Use your own Windows machines on premise connecting them to your Jenkins master at CloudBees through VPN.
